Position Overview
A busy Upper East Side family is seeking an exceptionally organized and proactive Family Assistant to support household operations and family management. This unique role combines early morning childcare support with comprehensive family administration, making it ideal for someone who thrives on creating systems and keeping details on track. The ideal candidate is a morning person with a Type A personality who takes genuine satisfaction in ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.
Role Responsibilities
Morning Childcare Support (6:30 AM - 8:30 AM)
The candidate will work alongside the family's primary nanny to ensure a smooth morning routine:

• Prepare and serve breakfast
• Assist children with dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene
• Ensure timely departure with all necessary items

Family Management & Administration (8:30 AM - 12:30 PM)
Children's Care & Logistics:

• Research, book, and manage extracurricular classes, sports, and camps
• Organize and rotate children's closets by season and size
• Order clothing and shoes as children grow
• Manage inventory of children's personal care items and toiletries
• Schedule and coordinate medical and dental appointments
• Track and maintain medication supplies

Calendar & Household Management:

• Manage family calendar and coordinate schedules
• Research and book family travel arrangements
• Process online orders, handle returns, and manage customer service
• Assist with parental schedule management and appointments
• Anticipate family needs and solve problems proactively

Required Qualifications

• Exceptional organizational and time management skills
• Strong attention to detail with a Type A personality
• Proactive problem-solver who anticipates needs
• Morning person comfortable with early 6:30 AM start times
• Reliable, trustworthy, and professional
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient with calendar management tools and technology
• Patient and warm demeanor with children
• Current CPR/First Aid certification required
• Experience in household management or an executive assistant role preferred

Position Details

• Schedule: 6:30 AM - 12:30 PM, 5 days per week
• Flexibility available to expand to 40 hours per week if desired
• Weekends off
