Fixed Income Proprietary Trader – LATAM Local Currency & Global Bonds January 9, 2026 Workplace: Office Reports to: Head of Fixed Income Trading Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Fixed Income Trader to join our team, covering LATAM local currency sovereign bonds , including Colombia, Peru, Bolivia, Venezuela, Paraguay, and Brazil , alongside selected USD-denominated global bonds and related FX/rates instruments. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in executing and managing trades, developing trading strategies, and monitoring macroeconomic developments across LATAM and global markets, with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of regional macroeconomic and political trends. This individual will provide insights into the broader global investment team and help shape the firm’s LATAM fixed income trading strategy. Key Responsibilities Execute trading strategies across LATAM local currency bonds , selected USD-denominated global bonds, and related FX/rates positions with best execution. Monitor market flows, liquidity, and pricing to identify trading opportunities across the region. Develop and implement short- to medium-term strategies informed by macroeconomic, fiscal, and political developments. Provide trade ideas and market insights to the broader investment team. Track macroeconomic, monetary, fiscal, and geopolitical developments affecting LATAM’s fixed income and FX markets. Assess and manage interest rates, credit, and currency risks in line with portfolio objectives. Manage liquidity, funding, and balance sheet usage within approved limits. Coordinate with risk and treasury teams to ensure disciplined risk control and capital efficiency. Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, market makers, and counterparties to enhance execution quality. Represent the firm to strengthen its presence in LATAM fixed income markets. Qualifications & Requirements Minimum 3+ years of experience in LATAM local currency bonds , USD-denominated bonds, and FX markets. Solid knowledge of LATAM macroeconomic and political landscape, central bank policy, and sovereign debt markets . Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex market data and translate it into actionable trading strategies. Proven track record of disciplined risk management and P&L generation in emerging market environments. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; English required , Portuguese or Spanish highly advantageous.
