Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role located in Indianapolis, IN, for a Government Affairs Associate. The individual will engage in policy analysis, build relationships with government officials, and support the organization in advancing its advocacy efforts. Responsibilities include monitoring legislative and regulatory developments, preparing reports and presentations, attending hearings and meetings, scheduling meetings and collaborating with team members to build and maintain effective government relations. The role requires effective communication with stakeholders, as well as active participation in initiatives to represent the association's interests.

Qualifications

  • Strong Analytical Skills for policy evaluation and analysis
  • Excellent Communication skills including written communication and oral presentation skills
  • Comfortable with speaking in front of large groups
  • Understanding of local and state legislative & regulatory processes
  • Ability to build professional relationships with public officials and community leaders
  • High level of organizational and time-management skills
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Prior experience in advocacy or association work is a plus
  • Prior experience in political campaigns is a plus
