Preschool Coordinator
The Preschool Coordinator supports the Teachers and Site Director by helping to develop, implement and maintain evidence located (applied behavior analysis) educational systems and instructional programs within the classroom and school environment. The coordinator supports the development and completion of continuing formal and informal assessment of student abilities and needs, the development of IEP goals, and instructional interventions to address learning needs. The coordinator conducts continuing observations of teachers to ensure instructional fidelity of program implementation, conducts data/graphing analysis, trains the teachers to implement evidence located tactics and functions as a classroom substitute teacher as needed. The Coordinator provides mentorship and administrative support to the Teacher, and reports on classroom progress and training to the CPO/COO. The coordinator ensures that all SED, DOH, and OCFS rules and regulations are followed in the classrooms.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
»The coordinator will help the teachers develop and maintain evidence-located classroom systems and multi-tiered positive behavior systems to promote an effective classroom learning environment and classroom management.
»The Coordinator will demonstrate good time management expertise, organization and management of materials, equipment, paperwork, and schedules.
»The Coordinator conducts everyday review of student progress and analyzes student graphical display of progress, provides feedback and program changes as needed to ensure students are meeting learning results.
»The Teacher utilizes behavioral supports to effect student learning and expertise development.
»The Coordinator will work with the Teacher to build a prosperous classroom team that actively addresses student learning, communication, social expertise, and behavioral needs. The Coordinator provides direct supervision to all Teachers.
»Supports the operation of Echo Autism as assigned.
»Helps review referrals and schedules parent/student interviews.
»Helps to admit/enroll students.
»Acts as Liaison between Preschool and School Districts/Transportation/Director of Preschool Special Education Programs.
Qualifications
General Requirements:
»Master's degree in Special Education/Psychology/or Applied Behavior Analysis is required and a NY State Certification in Students with Disabilities Birth-2nd or Bachelor's degree in Special Education and Certificate of Qualification or Provisional Certification in Special Education with a commitment to pursue Master's in Special Education preferred.
»BCBA preferred
»Must maintain qualifications in the crisis intervention procedure of the agency.
»Must be capable at all times of initiating or assisting in all components of the crisis intervention of the agency.
»Must be capable at all times of assisting occupants in the orderly evacuation of the facility, by both primary and secondary paths in the event of fire or other emergency.
»Must have on file medical clearance and TB statement before working with children.
»Must have clean background check on file, including SCL, references and fingerprints before s/he can be left unsupervised with a child.
