Oklahoma Democratic Party: Field Organizer

Responsible for executing statewide organizing and electoral programs in individual regions across Oklahoma.

• Work to build local grassroots programs, including direct voter contact, volunteer recruitment and retention, development of training with county parties, and oversee testing of field techniques and tactics.
• Implement grassroots field tactics, including phone banks and canvasses, organizing community gatherings and local issues forums.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting and organizing follow-up of volunteers for further outreach activities.
• Train, coach and mentor Field Organizes, canvassers and volunteers in best practices for volunteer recruitment, retention and mobilization.
• Create specific accountability measures to identify areas of improvement. Ensure all voter contact data is entered into campaign data platform.
• Engage with local stakeholders and community organizations to build support.

At least two cycles of campaign experience. Strong working knowledge of VAN. Familiarity with Google Drive suite, especially Google Sheets. Proven ability to train. Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate with staff, volunteers and local stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds. Ability to maintain a level head in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Desire to create a welcoming environment for volunteers.
