Medical Scribe Position Summary The Medical Scribe assists healthcare providers by documenting patient encounters in real time within the electronic health record (EHR) system. This is an entry-level opportunity ideal for individuals interested in gaining hands-on clinical experience in a healthcare setting. Candidates should have a basic understanding of medical terminology or be comfortable learning and using clinical language in a fast-paced environment. Schedule & Availability • Typical clinic hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM • We are open to candidates with partial availability within these hours (for example, 3-4 full days per week) • Candidates must have reliable availability across Jacksonville locations Compensation • $14.00/hour during training • $15.00/hour upon successful completion of training Key Responsibilities • Accompany providers during patient visits (in-person or virtual) • Accurately document patient history, exams, assessments, and treatment plans in the EHR • Record lab results, imaging findings, and procedures as directed • Prepare and organize patient charts prior to visits • Ensure all documentation meets HIPAA and compliance standards • Assist with clerical support tasks as needed Minimum Qualifications • High school diploma or GED required • Basic computer and typing proficiency • Strong attention to detail and listening skills • Professional demeanor and ability to maintain confidentiality • Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment • Basic understanding of medical terminology OR strong comfort learning and using medical terminology in real time • Reliable transportation and ability to travel within Jacksonville as needed Training • Paid on-the-job training provided • Instruction in medical terminology and EHR systems • HIPAA and compliance training included
