  • Telephone operators act as the primary communication hub for organization, responsible for answering, screening, and routing high-volume incoming calls to appropriate departments or individuals . Manage multi-line systems, provide general information, take messages, and handle emergency calls using established protocols. Additional duties often include basic clerical work, such as data entry, filing, and updating directories. Medical Records Clerk manages, organizes, and secures patient health information in hospitals or clinics, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance (HIPAA). Key duties include updating Electronic Health Records (EHR), filing documents, processing admissions/discharges, and fulfilling record requests for authorized personnel.
Requirements:
  • Phone Skills and Etiquette: Answering, screening, and transferring calls efficiently while maintaining professional etiquette.
  • Customer Service: Providing information to callers regarding services, business hours, and locations.
  • Emergency Handling: Managing, paging, and directing emergency calls (e.g., in hospitals or security situations).
  • Record Maintenance: Organize, file, and retrieve patient medical records, including paper charts and electronic data.
  • Data Accuracy: Input, update, and audit patient information for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulations.
  • Confidentiality & Compliance: Strictly adhere to HIPAA regulations and safeguard sensitive patient information.
  • Information Release: Process requests for medical records from authorized individuals, insurance companies, and other healthcare providers.
  • Administrative Support: Prepare charts for appointments, assist with departmental audits, and process patient admission/discharge paperwork.
  • Information Retrieval: Deliver medical charts to appropriate staff, such as physicians and nurses.
